This Artisan Heart

This is for the ramblings of girl who can't sleep,
stories that want to be shared, and pictures that bring peace.
This is not being written for you, but if you feel at home here,
I welcome you to stay for tea.

The thought of doing things makes me happy. Uncontrollably lightheartedly giddy. I want to travel and explore and be my own person. No matter what obstacles are in my way I know I can do this.

I don’t care if it’s dangerous, driving a car is dangerous, the ocean is dangerous. Being told it’s dangerous won’t dissuade me from doing things because everyone does dangerous things everyday.

Because it’s different over there is not an argument, that is the reason to go. It’s how you learn, it’s how you grow, it’s how you stay full of wonder and in love with the world.

Even if you can’t go and you want to, it does not make a valid reason to keep me home. Your fear, your worry, your frustration won’t pull me down. So don’t keep me from adventure.

I’ll just come back and sleep in your arms again. All will be well. The feel of your warm chest pressing on my back, our legs tangled together, and your arms wrapped around me.
Better than the best blanket, you keep me safe from monsters with snarling teeth. You block out the harsh light and bitter cold.
The sounds of your deep sleeping breaths are sweeter than any compliment anyone could pay me. Because when you can hold me and sleep that easily and freely, I can see you.
I see you tired and worn down, at peace with the world through the simple act of holding me tight and letting go of everything else.
